We have a vacancy for an assistant DYER & COLOURIST.

Working as part of a small team in a family run textile workshop, this is a hands-on full time job that would suit a TEXTILE GRADUATE or similar.You will be trained in the colour matching and dying of silks and velvets as well as working with other team members in the preparation of fabric samples and the despatching of orders.

Are you an experienced hand roller of scarves?

We are looking for experienced hand rollers to supplement our small team of sewers. There would be good continuity of work throughout the year and we pay a fair rate.

This winter we are concentrating on increasing our stock of silk fabrics and our range of stock colours. We shall be adding Silk Organza, Double Georgette and a silk/wool crepe to our range. Later in the winter we will be bringing out a number of dress fabric designs to extend our present small range.

We have taken delivery of Duchess Silk Satin in white and ivory. This is the traditional wedding dress fabric that usually retails at between £40 and £60 per metre. Our price of £23.25 per metre for A1 quality is obviously very competitive.

The Ashmolean Museum in Oxford will re-open on 7th November 2009 following a major re-development that has taken over two years to complete.

We have also been busy on their behalf, designing and printing a brand new range of scarves and ties based on a number of pieces in their collection. Most of these have now been printed and are in the final stages of production (the labels arrived yesterday!) and will be despatched in a couple of weeks time, ready for the grand opening.
