A mans tie is made from five different pieces of fabric and is usually 54 to 56 (137cm to 142cm) long. Our ties measure 3.5 (9cm) across the widest part of the blade. A tie panel is 21''(53cm) and makes 2 ties. A piece of fabric thats 36'' (90cm) wide makes two ties from 1m. A piece thats 45'' (114cm) wide makes four ties from 1m. Ties are always cut on the cross to avoid twisting and we shall be pleased to email you a cutting plan if you are supplying your own fabric. (This must be of a suitable weight). Have you thought about having matching handkerchiefs? We can make them out of the same fabrics as your ties. The size of our hankerchiefs start at 18''(46cm). The prices (inclusive of VAT) of the finished silk ties include, the laying out of your image, printing, the supply of silk twill and making up.
This is an exciting way of creating very exclusive silk ties, in small quantities and to your own design. We shall require your design (or digital photograph) on a P.C. compatible disc at a resolution, when printed full size, of 150 to 300 pixels per inch. If you want to download the tie plan click here.
